Barack Obama’s win in the election is truly inspirational. He is the first black president of the United States and that in itself is an incredible accomplishment. Going into Election Day, I did not know what to expect. The polls indicated that Obama was going to win, but I did not know if race was going to play a crucial role and things such as the “Reverse Bradley Effect” were going to affect the election results. Obama’s win is not only a win for himself, but it is a win for this country. No one can deny that this election has brought the country together and Obama’s win has also been met with euphoria from many nations who see him as restoring their faith in American ideals. Obama’s win has convinced every young child out there, whether they are black or white, that through hard work and perseverance, anything is possible. Obama is going to make a great president because he is able to appeal to a wide range of people. He has a tough battle before him, but I believe that he will make decisions that will benefit this country.
Barack Obama's victory in the 2008 Presidential election has been really amazing. Going into this presidential election I have been an independent thinker, and I have not truely favored one candidate over the other. As a result I was neither happy or disappointed when John McCain lost the election, and Barack Obama was selected as President. However, Barack Obama's new position as President of the United States is a record setting event. I am excited to witness such a monumental and historic presidential term. This is the first time in the history of the U.S. that an African American has been elected as President. Unfortunately Barack Obama has been put into a very tough situation. I am very anxious to see how President Obama will handle the serious issues/conflicts that our nation faces today. Hopefully, as President of the United States, Barack Obama can guide our nation to an efficient and sucessful future.
I thought Barack Obama's win was really incredible. I never imagined to have a African American president, and for him to become the first was amazing. I am happy with the results because I was undecided in the beginning, but I started leaning more towards Obama as the election was going on. However, I think there are many things Obama needs to deal with now that he is the president. There is the economic crisis that needs to be fixed. Also, there are two wars going on that he needs to take care of. With the economic crisis, I'm really curious to see how he will handle the situation. He has been saying that he will be able to fix the crisis, and I'm curious to see the outcome.
Barack Obama's victory in the 2008 election was truly historical. Being the first black president of the United States showed the ability of this country to overcome racial barriers. The fact that so many people voted this election is also a great accomplishment. It showed the interest of the people to try and fix their country. This election seemed great for the country because both candidates seemed to be more concerned with solving the United State's problems as oppose to trying to win more power to their respectable parties. The country is currently faced with many problems and I feel good about the fact that a president is elected who focuses on change. Barack Obama brought this country together and I feel his leadership shall restore the confidence of the American people in the economy.
I am not surprised that Obama won. I was very confident that he was going to come up victorious. I am also very pleased of this because i was a follower of Obama. This is a huge step for our nation in my opinion. Having a black president would make those like Martin Luther King Jr. feel as if their efforts did not go to waste, and were not forgotten. It is my belief that in order for this country to be great once again, that we all must work as one, put skin color aside and all have the common goal of freedom and happiness among all Americans. As Obama states, it will not take a month, or even his term, but now is the time to start changing as a country, and i feel confident that Obama is a good choice to lay down the first stepping stone in this process.
It was not surprising to me when I heard that Obama had won the election. I feel as having a black president is a huge step in over coming racism. Obamas seemed very confident and hopeful when he spoke for the first time as president. So I feel as if he will make a great president and get a lot accomplished or started. Like as he stated, there aren't going to be any big changes right away. I believe that he will lead our country in the right direction, even though he doesn’t have much experience I don’t feel like that’s going to stop anything.
The journey Barack Obama has overcome to become our president is an inspirational journey that will be remembered in history forever, his victory in this election is remarkable. I feel so privileged of being apart of such a monumental time in American History, and being able to watch our country grow into a accepting community. Obama has a big job ahead of him, dealing with the financial crisis, and two wars is not going to be easy, but if he follows his word, he will help get us out of the mess our country has become. There are many people who criticize with his opinions and ideas, but I strongly believe he will not let us down. I was completely confident in him in becoming our president, and i truly believe he will lead our country into a better place.
Although I was undecided, leaning more toward McCain, I believe that Obama's victory is an amazing event in history that we all got to witness. The fact that he is black and is now our president demonstrates how far our country has come and that anything is possible. I am really curious to see how much of his plans for the future are put into action. He really emphasized the need for change all throughout his campaign. I really agree that our country is in need of some major changes, but the reason why I was undecided leaning more towards McCain was because I do not agree with all of the ways that Obama is planning on bringing about this change. All that i can say is that i hope all of the changes made are ones for the better, and not for the worse.
Barack Obama's win in this election is historic. It is no doubt that this election showed how much the world has changed. The election of 2008 showed a great many first; a woman and african american. Through most of the campaign I supported Obama for his views, but I don't feel the same could be said for most of his supporters. I think that many people that voted for Obama took literally into his campaign slogan and want "change" meaning electing a black president. The fact that Obama won by so many votes proves that he was "popular" with the American people. The days coming up to the election made me second guess if he really can give all he says. I just hope Obama proves himself and is able to handle this country at this time. I do worry about other countries' response to Barack being president.America is known to be the country to take chances and to be the first, but it does bring some sour oponions. Medvedev (President of Russia) did not even mention the election of a new president in his speech, yet he mentioned how America encouraged Georgia's agression.I think that just as Obama has to prove to our country that he can back all that he promised, he has to prove to other countries that we as a country are strong and able to overcome our depression. His success will possibly help change the world. In being the first black president, America has stepped over a big threshold. I believe that him being president will help dilute some prejudices still present in our country. This is going to be a long journey, but I believe that Barack Obama was the best choice out of the two candidates. He seems like he can handle more; it is just a question of how much. America does need change and only time will tell. Either way, I believe Obama will be able move our country up. The switch from a Republican to Democratic President will no doubt bring a positive change to the country. I am excited to see what the future brings to our country.
Barrack Obama’s election as the next President of the United States is a historic and amazing thing to happen for America. The failed politics of the Bush Administration will be put behind us, and an inspiring, intelligent man will be at the reins to get our country back on track. The policies he has outlined during has campaign make sense for what we need to do as a country. The main points on which I’m optimistic he can deliver are fixing the economy, revamping our foreign policy, and finding energy solutions. I’m not saying that Obama will give the magical cure for all of America’s problems, but he is the person that is absolutely best suited to at least get us going in the right direction after what has failed the last eight years. In terms of history and a sign of how far we’ve come it’s amazing to have a black man as President. His success breaks down racial barriers and shines as an example of what all minority groups can achieve in America. I am extremely relieved that the Bradley effect did not apparently come into play. It reinforces my faith in the goodness of America. A day of true change and equality has come when the American people have chosen a black man to lead them.
Obamas election has not changed my outlook on polotics at all because each party spends thousands of dollors to make promices that they cant even keep.
I feel that Obama’s election is inspirational. It is the first time America has elected a black President, which shows our country has progressed a lot over the years. I am hopeful that Obama will be a good President. He has many challenges ahead of him such as dealing with the economic crisis and managing two different wars. Although only time will tell if he is successful as President, as of now I am looking forward to what he will do. I think he will make a good President, and many other countries have already congratulated him too. Even though polls had Obama in the lead going into Election Day, I will still hesitant to assume he would be elected. I think McCain was a respectable candidate and would have made a good President too. I am pleased with Obama’s election and it will be interesting to see what will happen when he is inaugurated in January.
I feel very excited about Obama being elected as President. He is a symbol of the change that is going to come to our country. He also represents the changes that have already occurred, with him being the first African American president elected. Obama also brought out a lot of young voters in this election. This showed how many young people really believed in Obama and what he could do for the country. The way that Obama won also shows how much change was needed for the country. He won with an overwhelming majority of the electoral votes; well passing the number he needed to clinch the win. I do believe that Obama will face many important issues as soon as he takes over and am interested to see how he deals with these crises. I think that his four years will bring about great change and make our country even better than it is today.
Throughout the entire presidential campaign, I was undecided as to whom I would elect for president if I was of age to vote. I was split with my opinion on who I thought would make a better president because I agreed and disagreed with some of the candidate’s policies that they would create if they were elected president. I was excited to have this opportunity in my life time to witness such a historical event; either an African American was going to be elected president for the first time in our nation’s history, or a woman was going to become the first woman vice president. Either way, whoever was elected president, is going to have the hard task of trying to get our nation through this economic crisis and bring our troops home from not only one war, but two. I hope that Senator Obabma will be able to accomplish both tasks and unite the American people behind him.
I personally dont like Obama at all. I think he is making too many promises and he wont be able to keep them, therefore failing miserably infront of all the people that used to love him, ending up as the new "Bush". He is lowering the taxes on middle class and LOW CLASS people. Low class is people who are poor and on welfare. Most of those people are on welfar or poor because they chose to spend their money on things that they dont need (drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc.) They will use that extra money Obama is giving them to...support their habits. GREAT WORK OBAMA! What worries me is that he supposedly loves this country, yet he wont salute it. Its scary to realize we just elected a man to be president of the country he loves, yet he doesnt respect it enough to salute it. The simplest of tasks, and you expect him to create change? think again. Then again this is not MY country, its American's country. I am just one opinion of millions. So America got what they wanted and we will just have to wait and see. Until then i pray.
Senator Barack Obama's win in this recent election was monumental. The reason is that he is the first African-American President of this country. Also, he progress towards the White House was methodical and unexpected. Just six to eight months ago no one thought he had a chance against Senator Hilary Clinton let alone Senator John McCain. His win first from being the Democratic Nominee to the eventual president was because of the thousands of people who believed in his messages. It was also the help of his success in campaigning and fund raising through TV ads and his successful internet campaign. However, what gave him the most edge in this election was his ability to give speeches and bring hope to those who believed in him. Thus, I feel that Senator or rather President Barack Obama fully deserved his new position.
Overall, I thought that this year’s presidential election was quite fascinating in many ways. I was not surprised that Barack Obama won, but I did not expect to see an African American man in office this soon. What Obama has done is a great accomplishment in itself, but now he will be faced with a new challenge of leading our nation out of the economic crisis and war-stricken world that we live in. While he received enough backing from the people to be elected president, there are still many critics of his policies and his ways. He needs to prove to the people in the coming weeks and months that he was worthy of his nomination. If is able to do this I feel that he could go down as one of the most influential presidents our nation has ever seen. He has been handed the country in a time of turmoil and if he is able to lead us out of it, especially as a man of color, then he will earn the respect of the American people that he rightfully deserves.
I am nervous about the election of Barack Obama. I hope he can lead the country out of the current economic situation quickly. I hope he finds a good compromise to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan but still to win them. I hope he is consistent and truthful in his policies.I hope Obama can gain the support of other foreign nations and return America to its powerful state. Though some people say Obama was elected because he was the lesser of two evils I hope he is the better of two goods.
I am very excited and inspired by the presidential win of Barack Obama. I am happy not just because I am a democrat, but because this is a huge event in our nations history. For the first time since our nation was founded, we have a African American president, something I didn’t if I would ever see in my lifetime. I am excited and anxious to see how Obama decides to help us get out of this economic crisis, and to prove himself as a great leader. I believe that Obama is the change that our country needs, and that his win is the beginning of a new era for the country.
I believe that Barack Obama winning the election is an amazing thing. I have supported him for a while. He may be young but he is very intelligent and seems to know what he is doing. He will bring a positive change to this country. I think that it is rude that people don't support him because of his skin color. We have had 43 white presidents and it is time to have something new for this country. He will bring much change and greatness to this country and I am thrilled to have him as our president.
When Barack Obama was elected as the new president of the United States I thought to myself how far this country has come. 100 years ago African Americans had no rights and were not even granted the opportunity to vote. The Constitution grants liberty and equality to all of the citizens of this country but racism has always occurred. This finally proves that no matter ones ethnicity or beliefs, one can reach their goals. As an inspirational speaker, Obama restores confidence in the American people. This is exactly what is needed with the crises going on in this world. When FDR was president he got on the radio and gave about thirty speeches to the American people. These "fireside chats" gave the people confidence after the depression to confide in their banks and begin coming back from the economic hole they were in. Barack Obama has the same striking way of reaching American people of all different backgrounds and using optimism to lead our country in the right direction.
I personally do not care for Obama. His win was astonishing winning with 364 electoral votes to McCains 163, and Obama being elected shows how much America is a place of change and of opportunities. But I disagree with his cuts for lower class familes. It could help many it will also help people who abuse subtances. This pan can put money in to peoples hands who will not only harm themselves but others. I am general disapointed in the election outcome. I can only hope that Obama can come thorugh with some of his promise. He will not be able to do everything he wanted to we simply dont have enough money. I have high hopes for him consider our countries current state of disrepair but someone in this contry will end up being disapointed.
I am pretty satified with our new president. I feel taht he has the potential to be a great president. He came in at a rough time, with the economy in the state that it's in, the two wars we are currently envolved in, etc. I am confident that he will take the correct actions and do well in office. I am a little worried about somethings, however. At the gas station I am currently employed at, I heard my boss talkin about this very subject. He said that he very anxious to see what Obama will do in the sense of energy. His policies aren't very focused on the oil crisis, which will effect my boss directly, and everyone else indirectly. His priorities are a little bit mixed up, but if he selects the proper cabinet in place, he and the United States should do just fine.
I think that Barark Obamas win in the election is amazing, it shows that he was someone that overcame racism and became a great leader. He has a very impressive personality and great character. He is very smart and looking at all his credentials i think he will do good.Though the road ahead is very difficult looking at all the mess, but i think he will manage, although it will take time. As far as color goes, it does'nt matter because every body has the same brain. Also, Mccain Just wanted to go into Iran and start fighting again. Obama is going to bring our troops home where they belong. Mccain was all about helping the big businesses. Obama is going to help us get out of this recession. Mccain wanted to drill for oil everywhere he can. Obama is plain out just going to help with the prices without ruining more of our land.
I am very happy that Barack Obama won the presidency. I got to vote for the first time this election and I voted for Obama. This election was historical and inspirational. Obama gives hope for changes in a time were the economy is bad and the war continues. Obama chnaged the way my generations look at a president. For most of my life the president was not someone to be looked up to but someone to laugh at. I look up to Obama and he gives me and most of the nations hope for a better tomorrow. At a time like this when the country is facing a lot of problems and the president needs to handle and fix a vast amount of problems I am happy that Obama will lead our nation and I hope he does a great job.
I am very pleased that Obama won the election because i believe that he will really bring a change to this country. He has promised many great ideas to help solve all the financial turmoil that that this country is handling. At first i wanted McCain because thats who my parents wanted but i changed my mind when i saw the second presidental debate. McCain just barked out insults about Obama instead of presenting his case on how he was going to help the country. Obama actually answered the questions. I believe that he will lead our country back to a stable and reliable state. This elections is a memborable one because Obama is the first black president and i believe that because we elected him it shows other nations thats we are a great nation. We are cultural and fair and we should be respected. I am truely happy Obama is president.
