After watching in the white house one thing that I've found interesting is the fact that it takes so much vitality to work in the White house. Before watching this I'd always thought that working in the white house was just another boring desk job but I now see that there is actually a lot of running around to keep up with Obama’s way of running things. I think that living there would be too much trouble for me because not only is it uprooting me and family from everything we know but we would also be constantly watched and that would be cool for a little while but it would get really annoying fast. I would not want to work there because you have no time for yourself and that would really annoy me and all of the opportunities you have afterwards are not really any that I would want so I don’t see any reason for me to work there.

After watching 'In the White House' I was both surprised and what I saw and also not. I was not at all shocked that it was a chaotic atmosphere. There is constantly something going on and seemed like there wasn't a moment going to waste. I did know the Barack Obama was very family oriented and I really liked seeming that in action. He sees his girls off to school, has the jungle gym in the backyard and makes a special time for them. I also like Michelle Obama not "over doing" public apperances and going to all of the Obama children's school functions.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a little glimpse of the lighter side of the White House. When Obama went to 5 Guys to get burgers for everyone. This showed me that all these politicians and the President himself are humans too.
One things is certainly for sure. There is absolutely no way I could ever work there. The schedule is super rigorous having 12 hours or more of work pure day, high pressure and worst of all most who work there must leave their family to stay and live at the White house and in Washington full time. Many cannot have their families there and there is no way I could ever do that. Maybe the only job I'd consider is at the front desk, but other than that I don't think I could keep up with the high paced lifestyle. Though it's super cool to say you work at the White House think about what you're doing and ALL of the sacrifices it entails.
All in all I found this special very intersting and I think it would be very cool to spend just one day there.

After seeing the documentary and actually seeing what it is like, I know my mind sill cant fully grasp everything. For example, they mentioned how employees work up to 15-17 hours per day. This amount of effort was the most interesting part to me because they are putting their personal time and home lives in jeopardy just to continue working where they do.
I would never work there because that field first of all doesn’t interest me, and second of all, too many hours are needed. I know it would “better” everyone in America by putting in effort, but that kind of work I think is a little too extreme and would create extra stress in my life that no one needs.

I found "Life in the White House" to be very interesting. I was surprised when i found out how many hours are put into a work day. It leaves virtually no time for a personal life. I could imagine that the setting couldnt be very healthy either considering the amount of stress an White House employee must take on. I was happy however when i saw how dedicated the Obamas are to their daugthers. Barak and Michelle take personal time away from the rigors of running a nation to tend to their girl's lives, especially school. It gives a comforting feeling knowing that they arent cold hearted poilticians and are true americans themselves.
As honored as one can be having a job as prestigous as working in the White House, after watching "Life in the White House", i can honestly say that i would never want to work there. The staff takes on way to many hours and responsibilities. I also would never want to spend that much time away from my family. I want to see my children grow up.

After viewing the documentary about the everyday regimen of the Obama White house I was very surprised and intrigued to learn about certain details of the president's everyday life. I was surprised to learn that he makes time to go to the gym every morning with his wife and that he has time at the end of the night to take his dog for a walk.

Now that I see the amount of hours and dedication needed to put into work in the White House I can easily say that working there would never interest me. The hours would be too long for me and I would not nearly be able to see my family as much as I would like to. It would be incredible to visit for a field trip, but a job there would be too demanding and I would miss too much of my life at home.

When I originally saw "Inside the Obama White House", before we saw it together in school, there were a few things I was surprised about. The biggest thing that stuck out was the amount of work that the staff members did, and how committed they were. One man stated that he had not seen his wife in over a month. Another staff member mentioned that he couldn't go home to see his wife for a annual special occasion because a conference was held up. The amount of work they do, however, is hardly motivated.

After doing some research, I found out that in 2007, a majority (199) of the staff members earned less than $51,000 per year. Only 24 of the staff members earned over $150,000. I'm assuming those 24 were the ones that worked the most, and the chance of achieving their position was slim.

For the amount of work they do (some of them at least), I don't think the salary is worth it and thus, I, personally, would not want to work there. Sure it would be prestigious to be able to say "I work in the White House", but at what cost?

I thought that “Inside the Obama White House” was very interesting to watch because a lot of the things that went on during the documentary I didn’t think would actually go on in the White House. A lot of younger people just out of college work there, stay for about a presidential term and then will leave and find other careers. People that work there work around 15 hour days or maybe even more, and don’t make a lot of many at all. They work so long and so hard that most stay for only one term, and then pack their bags and go home. The staff rarely sees their own families which is a big reason that people who work there only stay for such a short time period. The up-side to working there is that they are working alongside the President of the United States and after they decide to leave, they most likely will receive any job opportunities they come across, not many people can say they have worked in the White House.
I don’t think that I would want to live at the White House just because it is a public museum and I like privacy. And I also don’t think I would be able to work in the White House as well. The amount of time and work that go in every day would be too hard on me. I would like to try it out or a few months but I don’t think I would last much longer.

After watching the video of the White house I was really surprised. One thing that surprised me was that how much energy you have to put in to work at the White house. Not one minute was wasted and everybody was busy. The whole staff puts their whole effort into their work everyday. I was interested that President Obama does not only worry about the country but also his family. As the whole country is on his shoulders he still takes out time of his busy schedule to go and get burgers for the whole staff! It shows that the President and everybody who work at the white house are ordinary people just like us. The same. If I had a chance to work at the White House I would but till that time I would have run away after seeing all of the hard work. I mean you really have to put effort into it but you also have to love it. And I would miss my family life. But it would be really interesting to spend one day at the White House.

In response to the video, I really feel like my perspective on the White House has changed to the following:

Its energy is one of controlled chaos. For this reason I do not think this would be somewhere I would want to work. Although it really is a place full of young people, and helps you advance your career, I do not feel that the compensation for the amount of work and stress involved is adequate.

I am surprised how anyone could live in the White House without being overcome with a sense of smallness. The building itself is intimidating in some ways, and I feel like it would become hard to accept as your home. If I were President, I think I would want to live in a slightly more private location with fewer overlaps between work and family life--although this would create some transportation issues.

This brings me to my next reaction regarding transportation. I always knew that there had to be a lot of security surrounding every public appearance, but I never imagined it to be structured as strictly as it is. It seems as though the efforts put in place before any Presidential trips are extreme, but necessary.

Watching the video on the white house gave me a better view on how life inside the white house really is. I never really imagined it being as busy as it actually seems. Because it seemed so busy, many times I didn’t see a “too family oriented” place, but that changed when I saw what Obama’s family had to say about living in the white house. Michelle and the girls all pinpointed out the positives about living in a home like that, and that they still do have family time like before, such as playing, exercising, and eating together. I would not really like to live or work at the white house though. By working at the white house I would not be able to see my family on an everyday basis, and I couldn’t really live that way. The video showed the people who were working there extremely busy; working at the white house is a huge responsibility, and you never have any time to yourself as well. Things like these would really stress me out and I couldn’t handle living like that.

After watching "Inside the Obama White House" I was suprised on how much work goes on in the White House. Peple are on their feet more than they are sitting behind a desk. Most of the workers are recent college graduates. The workers recieve very little pay. They make less than $40,000 a year. What was suprising to me was that some people do not get to see their famlies, and sometimes work 15 hours a day.

I would not want to work in the white house because of the long hours and the very low pay. I would not be able to see my family that much either. Sure it would be prestigious, but it is not worth it.

After viewing the special on the White House, I was very surprised on how much work and effort needs to be put in every day of the week. I thought it was interesting that every minute of the day is planned ahead of time, and that President Obama has to do his best to stay on that schedule. I was also interested in the fact that there were so many people working in one building. The thing that surprised me the most was that even though there is a lot of work to do, they still have time to mess around once and a while. I thought working at the White House would be very boring and orderly, instead of being hectic.

If I ever had the opportunity to live at the White House, I would be very excited at first. However after staying there a long period of time I would miss the privacy I used to have and I would hate to have constant attention. So, in the long run I would not want to live there.

I would want to work at the White House because I would love to have to honor to be around our country’s leaders. I would also like to know many of the secrets of what goes on there. The only downside to the job would be the long hours and small salary. But I would choose that great honor over money any day.

After watching A Day in the White House, I must say I was pretty surprised at some of the things that go down in and around the house. Prior to viewing this, I was not aware of the actual size of the White House. From the outside, the House looks like a normal mansion you'd find in Greenwich, for example. However, inside it is a whole other story. It is pretty much half an office building and half a home for the first family. I also found it interesting that Mrs.Obama had her own staff. I mean, I expected her to have a few secretaries here and there, but I had no idea she had her own team of secretaries and planners. Another thing I found interesting was interviewing President Obama's personally assistant. It is interesting to hear the point of view of someone who is never noticed in such a vital spot in the White House. The White House is no more a home than it is a 24 hour office building.
I would definitely want to live there if I had the chance. I think it's pretty thrilling to have a team to do all your tedeous work right at your service. However, if I was to work in the White House, I wouldn't like being away from my family as many employees are.
Overall, I found this video very interesting and somewhat surprising. I wouldn't mind spending some time in the White House.

After watching “Inside the Obama White House” I knew that working there was not a job for me. I could never work a 80 hour week for that little of pay. It may be an honor to say you work with the President but not for me. Working that long gives you no time for your own personal life and probably causes too much stress.
I found it interesting that President Obama is the first President to take off his jacket in the oval office. I agree with what he chose to do because that is his work and you should try to relax a little bit when you have such a big weight of the country on your shoulders. It was also cool to see our President throwing a basketball around in his office.

While watching "In The White House", I was actually quite surprised at some of the things I saw. It was interesting that as the most powerful man in the country, the president has his entire day planned out for him with very little free time and flexibility. At the risk of sounding ignorant, I did not expect to see so much activity going on. Also, I wasn't expecting many parts of the White House interior to more closely resemble an office building than a public museum/the home of the president. It was interesting to see how young many of the staff members were. If I were to get a job at the White House, I would not want to work there for too long for fear of getting burnt out. It would be a good experience to have for a short amount of time before moving on to something else. Also, I would feel an immense amount of pride having worked so close to the president and having been a part of his administration.

Now that I've watched "In the White House", I don't think I would ever pursue a career there. The employees and staff for Obama seemed over tired and over worked, most of all extremely stressed. And they have every right to be, after working 15-17 hour days, where is there any time for yourself? Nevermind a social life. Also, I imagine it would be very hard on a family too, not being able to see them and all. Working at the White House, while being an honorable thing to do, definitely isn't for me.

I was also pleased to see how dedicated every single one of Obama's staff members was. And I was glad to see how much emphasis Obama and the First Lady still put into family life. I can imagine growing up in the White House could be very hard and difficult to adjust to. But in the documentary both the First Lady and the President said that the girls come first. So while working probably one of the most demanding and cumbersome jobs, President Obama still follows traditional family values, which I think is great.

After watching "In the White House" I decided that I would not want to be the President. One reason for this is I would hate the amount of privacy you lose as a president. Especially how every time you leave the white house you must be surrounded by 15 cars, and anywhere you go must be scheduled a week in advance. Also if I had a family i would not want to bring them into the white house, it would be awkward spending quality time with them and dealing with your kids problems while a secret service agent sand only a few feet away at all times. Plus the stress alone of being president could greatly strain a family life. I did how ever find how the white house was broken down into sections of different office buildings interesting. Even though it would be long hard hours i would rather have a job in one of the offices as an assistant than be there president.

After watching "Life in the White House" I was suprised about how many things actually go on. It was interesting to see how many people you need to make the White House a success. You saw a lot of younger people working there and running around for about 15 hours, but i dont think id be up for it. I wouldnt want to work in the White House because you drift away from your family and friends and have to worry about someone elses needs and not your own. I think that the long hours would get to me and I wouldnt be able to deal with a lot of things at once. I think working at the White House would be an amazing opportunity but I wouldnt want to work there.

After watching "Life in the White House," I decided that I would not want to be the president due to the lack of privacy. I wouldn't want to have to always be followed by secret service men, and always have to be prepared and cautious. I also wouldn't want to have to schedule family time into my daily routines because I believe family time should just happen naturally. It would be exciting to work as a staff member of the whitehouse though because President Obama seems to treat them very well, and with a lot of respect, he also allows it to be a casual atmosphere, which is good seeing as how almost all of the staff has very stressful tasks to deliver.

After observing the White House from an outside perspective I’ve learned many things about job requirements, and the fast-paced life that revolves around the President. Barack Obama is without question one of the youngest and most lively of the presidents to come through the oval office yet. But despite his young age and eccentric personality he seems to grow tired and restless with the day to day requirements of fulfilling his job as president.
The video showed me not just the Presidents stressful life, but the work around the president fulfilled by his advisors and secretaries. Each job in the White House seemed to be extremely high-maintenance, hard-working, and extremely stressful. If the President wanted to leave the White House there had to be security briefings, evacuation plans, and a clean sweep of the area a week prior to when the President stepped foot outside White House grounds.
The overall environment illustrated a stressful atmosphere, but also granted powerful responsibility to each worker. A White House secretary communicates with every International leader along with Obama’s closest friends. Each job gives its worker the power to influence issues on an international level. It is a once in a life time opportunity to work alongside Barack Obama, and it will secure your future as a citizen of America.

I really enjoyed watching the video of the white house and life inside it. I would never want to live there permanetly, but a few weeks would be really cool. Touring each room and seeing the lay out would be a once in a lifetime opportunity. I wouldnt want to live there because the secret service would always be around; their job is to protect the President and his family, but too much protection would make me overwhelmed and not able to enjoy my teenage years.

Watching this video made me realize how much work truly goes on in the White House. I never really realized what the President has to do. I thought most of what he does we see on television, but that is only a small percentage of all the other activites.

After watching life in the white house, I found it very interesting how many things are going on at once and the amount of people that work there. I never realized how many issues and tasks have to be addressed everyday by the president. I also never realized how many people it takes to help the president with everything. I found it especially interesting how activethe West Wing of the white house was. Also, the amount of hours the staff has to put in a week. It seems very demanding and stressful to work there. I don't believe I would want to work in the white house because of these demanding hours and hectic days. Even though it's a privelidge and honor to work there, I don't believe it would be for me. I wouldn't want to be away from my family so much and I would need a lot more time to myself which the staff of the white house doesn't have a lot of. Something that also surprised me was how much family time Obama actually got to have. I think it's great that he can spend the time with his family, especially because his kids are so young and need him in their life. I really liked this show because I've always wondered what goes on in the white house everyday and this gave me a good idea. It's good to know that they are working hard day in and day out to make this country better.

As I watched the video, I found it very interesting. Initially, i didnt think that i would find it interesting, but I now view the life a a president differently. I knew that the president had to do formal things such as attend meetings, press conferences, and make public appearance, but I kind of assume that he had replaced the life of an average individual. Despite the fact that he has many responsibilities and duties, he is very much life any other person. He enjoys spending time with his family and dog, and surprisingly he even enjoys eating out (which I overlooked.)
I also realized how much the president and his staff has to do. There is so much planning and events throughout the day, and i greatly respect everyone who is involved with the functioning of the events that takes place because it takes alot of time. I figured that the White HOuse was a busy environment, and I now see why so many people have a specific role. Obama, his wife and kids, secreataries and work committee each play an important role. After the video, I would NEVER work in the White HOuse. It seems like a friendly and upbeat setting, but I definitely couldnt keep up.

Erica Meister-

After viewing Inside the Obama White House, I found many surprising and interesting things. I never thought that all of the office and room would seem so tiny. All of the different offices for the different people working within the White House are not so spacious. Everyone seems so congested within the White House due to office space wise. An interesting I saw while watching the Obama White House special was how there were apples all over the White house to promote healthy eating. Yet, they all indulge on M&M’s. I thought it was interesting how everyone within the White House tried to make everything so laid back once in a while. They had background music while they worked and how Obama got Five Guys for all of his hard working staff was really nice. It showed that they’re all just normal people doing their job and taking it one day at a time. The White House seems very chaotic with people running around, dealing with the press, trying to make changes within the government, and everything that has been going on within Obama’s presidency. I was very surprised to see how hectic everyone works. All of the different politicians are on their Blackberries, computers, and phones 24/7. It was just very intriguing to see how the President’s daily life is within the White House and to see what the different people do for their professions in the White House.
It seems like an interesting job to be working in the White House because you’re working inside a building with thousands of years of history. You are surrounded by different artifacts such as Kennedy’s portrait or you’re in the room where Lincoln’s casket was. Just being able to be working the inside workings of the government’s ‘mind’ is interesting. Yet, I would never work in the White House. I admit that I am not really into politics, but the long hours the people within the administration have to put in seem really stressful. They are all people around the same age so they have to be people who are basically just starting out their lives in the real world. Also, I heard that the people don’t have a really good pay for the hours that they work. I would want to live in the White House though. It would be fun to just roam around and explore what is within the building. The house is probably beautiful inside with its antique furnishings. I thought that the Inside the Obama White House report was really interesting and intriguing. It gives you a side of the White House that you never think of or see.

I found Inside the Obama White House very interesting. I had no idea how much work and running around there is in order to get things done. I thought it was interesting how Obama seemed to create a relaxed work environment while still keeping everything professional. I think working in the white house would be an awesome experience. It's a lot of work and long hours but the work ethic and contacts you gain would be worth it. Although it would be great to live in such a gorgeous place, I would not like to live in the white house. I wouldn't like so many people running around all the time and being in the middle of all the chaos.

After watching this video about the Obama White House, I was surprised at how bustling of a place the White House actually was. I had no idea how busy the White House actually was, from the kitchen staff, to the cabinet, and so on. I feel like the video downplayed the actual amount of security involved in the White House, as if the museum was open to the public. The security is much tighter than displayed in the show.
In terms of wanting to live there, its a yes and a no. Living in such an amazing piece of history and importance would be extremely exciting, but with that comes a home that's literally a museum. I feel that you could never have your own privacy, no matter how big the actual house is. It wouldn't feel like home. Ever. There is always someone at your door, always a camera in your way, and always security on your back. I feel at first it would be exciting, but it would soon grow old and exceedingly agitating. I would, however, enjoy working at the White House for the President. I feel that would be a very honorable and exciting job, that would open many doors for the future. However, I feel that I would burn out within a few years. With unimpressive pay, extremely long hours, and little interaction with my family, I would find it difficult to maintain such a way of life. I enjoyed watching this NBC special. I feel like it exposed the real White House, the President, his family, and staff as real human beings. It was an excellent video.

After viewing the video on the White House I was surprised to find out how many young people work there. Usually when I think of people who work in the White House I picture a group of older guys who have been around politics for most of their lives. I had always assumed that the President would have wanted to surround himself with people who had been in the industry for a long time and had a lot of insider knowledge on how things work. After viewing the video I see that this is not the case. The majority of people that work in the White House are around the age of 27. I feel that this is a lot of responsibly for people of this age, but I guess it makes sense seeing as they have to do a lot of time consuming task. Also after seeing what they have to do to work in the White House I feel that this would not be a good profession for me. It seems to be a lot of stress because everything needs to be done at a certain time and it has to be complete correct other wise the effects could be disastrous. I know that this it usually true for any job, but the stakes at the White House seem to be even higher. Also I feel that it was a lot of people cramped into one area. Not only did I decided that I would not like to work here, but I also don’t think that I would like to live here. The President seems to never be able to escape his office seeing as it is right down stairs from where he lives. I would like to come home at night and be able to relax and get away from the office. I feel that this would not be possible with my office directly below me. Also there are always so many people at the White House. Congressmen, workers, reporters, and even tourist are constantly at it. I would feel like I never had any privacy and I would not like that at all. These are some of the feelings I got from the video about being inside the White House.

Now that I have seen Inside the Obama White House I think it would be interesting to work there. I found it interesting to see how many young people worked there. I would have imagined it to be older experienced workers helping the president but most were in there twenties which I thought was cool. I also thought it was interesting about how calm everyone seemed. They are basically running the country and they seemed to calm in everything they did. It was chaotic there but each individual seemed like they knew what they had to do and were just getting it done. I would want to work there because though it did seem chaotic, it seemed like it would be a fun job to help out the president. I also think it would be neat to go and live there. The White House is full of history and it would be fascinating to always be around it and living where history has been made numerous times. Though you would then be living where you worked I still think it would be fun for a while to be surrounded in history. Those are the feelings I have after viewing Inside the Obama White House.

I would be interested in living in the white house because it was referred to as a museum. Working there would be a little too much to handle. It’s a long work day with expectations only the best of the best can work with. You have to be to devout to the work that you do and make sure everything is in order.

After watching 'In The White House' I was shocked that the employees work 15-17 hours a day. That is insane. I also thought it was very chaotic but at the same time it was very nice to see how family-oriented Barack Obama is and I really appreciate that action from him. Seeing Michelle Obama going to the schools is also very nice. It shows that the 'No Child Left Behind' policy still stands and it's nice to see someone doing something for kids too. But as for me, I would never work there because one, I hate politics and two, I wouldn't like how many hours I worked daily and being away from my family for so long. It seems very stressful but I guess if those people enjoy doing it then that's what they were meant to do (=

I would not like to live in the White House because you don't get any privacy. You don't have a lot of down time. You never get to have a "normal" day with your family. You are always on the move and need to deal with the worlds problems.

After viewing Inside the Obama White House, I was surprised to see the fast-paced tempo that all of the people had to keep up with. It seems almost like a grueling task just to get through one day at the White House. Another thing I found surprising was how big the White House really is. From the outside, it just looks like a big house. However, it is really a complex with living space, offices, gardens, ect.

Personally, I would not particularly like to work in the White House. It would be cool to work there for a day or two, but I think that it would wear me out after a while. I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the busy schedule, long hours, and relatively low pay. I also would not particularly enjoy constantly being away from my family like many employees are. I would probably be under too much stress if I worked in the White House.

After watching Inside the Obama White House, I learned many new things I had never knew before. I had no idea how a lot of the workers are young. I would have imagined it the opposite, most of the workers being old. I also learned that there are many important people working there to make sure every thing is safe and successful. All the employees are always doing work and making calls and other things, to make sure everything runs smoothly. I wouldn’t want to work in the White House, because it seems like it would be a very tough job. It seems you wouldn’t have a lot of free time and you would always be on the go, whether it is answering phones, are doing work in the office. I think it would be neat to live in the White House for a few days. I wouldn’t want to live there for years though, because there is not a lot of privacy, and after awhile, to go out, you might not want to have to walk by tons of people working. It would be interesting to live there for a few days, where you can look at all the history and see how everything works and what goes on there. That’s how I feel about living and working in the White House.

This was actually the second time that I have seen "Life in the White House" for Barack Obama. Although, the first time I saw it I had only seen the "Five Guys" part. I must say, being a part of the White House demands very tedious work, a lot more then I expected. It is no wonder why the White House needs so many people to run it. The amount of work and jobs that is put into maintaining the tasks is great, yet I don't believe I could do that for a job.

It would have been interesting to see them have a segment on the Secret Service, but then again, it wouldn't be that "secret" then would it? But to be able to follow around the president all day as a mere shadow to every one else, that job must get interesting.

As for living there, I must pass yet again. Were you to live there say as a child, the Service would follow you every where you go. Whether it be the mall, a restaurant, or even a party. That would begin to get annoying.

So even though the jobs at the White House are very demanding and rewarding, I will just leave it be and let others take over those positions.

After watching "In the White House", I wasn't surprised as to what I saw in the video. Becuase the White House is America's headquarters, everyone was running around trying to do his or her job. However, I was shocked to see the level of organization that each member of the White House showed. Even though they all had a lot of burdens on their shoulders, they managed to remain responsible. I would not want to work at the White House. I don't want to be confined to a small working space. Also, I do not want to attend all the conferences. It would be nice to live at the White House, only as a member of the first family.

What I found interesting about what goes on inside the White House is how informal they can be. Although the building represents more formal and official work than probably any other house in the world the President manages to maintain a very relaxed environment. You could see this in the scenes showing the President tossing around a football or a basketball with someone in a room such as the oval office which is supposed to be a great mediating space for debate and critiquing of policy. I would want to live and work at the White House for a short period of time because of how unique of a situation it is and how the house is a museum almost. Living and working in a place which hosts meetings as important as the White House does is a thrill in itself. But I would not want to live or work there for an extended period of time because the reality is you could not live there or work there for that long because of the ferocious pace that the building runs at.

After watching "Inside the Obama White House", I was extremely surprised. I found it very interesting that it consisted of so many offices and there were so many jobs to be had. It was also interesting to see how much the president does in just one day.Personally, I would probably not be interested in working there, mainly because many of the jobs appear to be tedious and boring. Also for the amount of work put in, the salary is not great.Although I might not enjoy working there, living there would be a different story. Washington DC is nice and if I was able to move my whole family in, it would be a dream.

I thought “In the White House” was very interesting, and opened my eyes to what really goes on during a day in the life of the President. What I was shocked to realize was the amount of busy work that actually goes on, and the countless hours the staff put in. Working for the President of the United States would be a prestigious title within itself, but is it worth the 70 plus hours for little to nothing pay? I don’t think there is any way I could deal with working in the White House, even for only a term. Working eleven hour, action packed days six times a week does not interest me in the least bit, regardless of who it is for. I was extremely surprised to find how low the payroll really was, especially due to the fact that they work for the government. The workload can only increase as the years go on, but will higher pay follow behind?

After watching what actually goes on in the White house, I was absolutely surprised of how much work goes on all day. The mornings start very early and the day ends much later than the average American. I've also never seen how many people use a Blackberry and how often they use it. It seems as if it becomes there life. My dad calls it a "Crackberry" and White House employees really emphasize that. I would never want to live or work in the White House just because of fast they work and how much is done. Some much planning has to be done in such little time. Even making a trip for lunch to Five Guys takes a lot of work and time.

After watching "Life in the White House," i feel like i really know the extent of the presidents work. Before I saw this I knew the president did do a lot of work, but you don't really think about it. For example, I always see the president on tv and everything, but you don't really put together that he has to do all these things on a daily basis. After watching this program, I realized that the presidents day is very very busy. He never stops and he's always running around doing something to try to benefit our nation. I now realize that the president's life is not just glamourous as being the figurehead of our nation, but a very busy and stressful life in which he has to do a lot of work. Not that I was considering it before I watched this, but now I definitely do not want to be president. This is because your life is so busy and protected, you do not either have the time to do the things you want to do or the the privacy to do them. You are constantly under surveillance by the country on everything you do and say. Lastly, I would consider working at the White House, only if I were interested in pursuing a political job later in life. Working in the white house is a very stressful and tough job, with long hours and little pay. I would only consider this job because it helps you meet some of the most powerful people in the world, which can definitely help you out in the long run.

After watching in the White House. i noticed that everyone wears shirts and tie. Every worker at the white house is very busy all day long. they work very long hours and they run around a lot.
I wouldn't want to live their because of all the things going on and all the people running around all day plus the people touring the white house. Working there would hard because you don't have a lot of time to yourself, you are always on the phone or running around.

After watching the white house program, i found it was interesting how laid back all the people seemed while NSMBC was there. I would have never thought the President and his staff would take a trip to " Five Guys" for lunch. I would have thought that the White House would have a cheif to make the meals. But it was nice to see how all the members of the White House worked together, in order to make our country the way it is today

After watching the Life In the White House, one thing that was really cool was how everyone is really relaxed, I always thought of it as it was portrayed in movies and such. They all seem really fun to work with. Personally I would love to move to a work area like that, but not personally in the White House, there would be to much pressure on me for that. I wouldn't mind doing what Obama's wife does, but working on the left wing looks to complicated and to long of hours for me to focus and stay focused on.

After watching the Brian Williams report on life inside the white house, I found it interesting. Life in the white house is so hectic and I really don't know whether I would want to live there or not. I think it would be a lot of fun for a few months, but after that I don't think I would be much fun. One of the main reasons I wouldn't want to live there is just because the west wing is to hectic. Everything is so uptight and there are people there 24/7. So i think it would be fun to be there for a few months, but after that I wouldn't want to be there. (absent 10/2)

After watching the documentary on the White House,I am now more aware of what actually takes place within it on a daily basis. Before I watched the videos, I assumed that working in the White House would just require sitting behind a desk and computer all day doing things for the President. However, I have come to realize that working in the White House can be very stressful, and that the majority of each members work is very tough and time consuming.

I don't think that working in the White House is something that I would enjoy doing. Not only would I have to work rediculously long hours for barely any pay, I would go crazy with all that is required of me. Working in the White House would also take away from my personal life, and I really wouldn't have much time for myself and family. I feel that if I worked in the White House, that I would have to have a high tolerance for stress, and that I must be willing to give every bit of my time to help the President. However, I feel that working in the White House would be a pretty exciting experience, but after a week or so, I would probably be mentally exhausted, therefore, crumbling under the pressure.

After watching the life in the white house I was very surprised to find how busy everyone is there. I never knew how busy the president is during the day. His many meetings, paperwork, and interviews must tire him out. It must be a very demanding and stressful job. I also never realized how active the west wing in the white house was. I never knew how many people it takes to lift some work off the presidents shoulders. They put many long hours in working within the white house which is very time consuming. A lot of pressure must be put in there hands working in the white house.
As honored as I would be saying that I work in the white house, I would have no desire working there. The many hours away from home and tough responsibilities would not suite me well. I feel that I could not take that much pressure. I also would not want to live in the white house because in my opinion I would like to keep my job out of my home so I can focus on what I have to do and to call my home, a home and my work, work.

I was genuinely surprised by the number of young people working closely with the President. I always imagined Washington DC politics to be swarmed with men and women with seasoned experience manning the offices. But then in the video, we were allowed to see 27-28 year olds helping the president.

The atmosphere of the working environment had amused me. Music, football, Five Guys run. I never expected to see that. The people in the video seemed so relaxed and playful, and the President seemed to play a large role in that. I was also entertained by the fact that apples are basically the favorite type of fruit in the White House.

Of course, I'd want to live in the White House. The building has always been one of those magnificent places where you just wish to get access to. That was one of my childhood dreams. Now I know that the only way you can live in the White House is if you have a huge responsibility to fulfill for the country. I wouldn't want to work at the White House though because from the looks of the video, you'd be confined to one place for a long time. That's not my type of job.

After watching "Life in the White House", I realized how many people it takes to make our nation run as smoothyl as possible. Not only does the President have a full workload, but everyone who works for him does too. All of the workers in the White House are highly qualified people who take their job very seriously. Also, these people work long days and don't get paid very much money.

Although working at the White House would be very stressful, I think it would be a good experience to work there. During the movie, you could see that there are times that people just goof around and have fun. Also, it seems like the President is someone who knows how to have a little fun when things are becoming to stressful, like when he went to 5 Guys and got his employees burgers.

After viewing "Life in the White House," I found nothing surprising and nothing interesting. I also doubt the genuineness of the White House employees. I doubt they would have acted as they did had they not been filmed. I have no desire to work or live in the White House. It seems stressful and low-paying, and if I were to help this President's agenda at all I would never be able to forgive myself.

I can honestly say i very much enjoyed watching "In The White House." I have always been interested in getting to see the inside of the White House and to get to see what goes on inside of it on a daily basis. Before watching these segments I always thought that the people in the white house were boring people who just sat and talked at a desk about politics all day. However i got to see thats not the only thing they do. The president has his Caninet meetings and a couple others to. Although he has a huge responsibility and alot of stress in his every day rutine he also has his family time too. He got to walk his dog with his wife and get his kids ready for school in the morning. I was shocked to see how small the place really was. I was also disapointed because I really wanted to see where Obama and his family actually lived but they never showed it. I loved to see that the president was a fatty too. He has candy all over the place( M&Ms) and he goes to fast food just like us. With all this said I would probably not want to live in the white house or have any of the jobs in it. I am not really interested in politics of any sort so the white house wouldnt be my first place to work in although they have M&M's everywhere.

Watching "Life in the White House" really gave me a better idea of what it's actually like to live and work there. Every staff member has such a great deal of work. Everyone is organized with every task they have to complete which helps make not on the headquarters, but the country run smoothly. With each important job I saw that everyone still has time to be a regular person. The videos showed Obama with his family and dog, as well as other staff members taking a break for lunch at the same place many Americans eat. I was shocked to see how little space there was for all of the offices. It was also interesting seeing the many different personalities of the people working in the west wing. Overall after watching these videos I would not like to live or work in the White House. There was so much to do every day and I am not one to be particularly interested in politics with such a heavy workload. Altho it would be nice to live in the White House, I would much prefer a more casual atmosphere in a regular American home.

I found it surprising how much work goes on inside. I never thought of it as an office building, but in reality, the staff inside works longer hours than almost any other office position. The constant organized scramble throughout the west wing for communication and overseeing purposes gives a sense of a continuously stressful environment from the morning to the night. Everyone is being watched by everyone else and there is no room for error.

I would never want to work in the white house. I would hate always having someone looking over my shoulder to check if I am doing something exactly how someone else wants it done. I understand that there will always be stipulations as to what I need to do in any job, but I would never stand to have every movement of my life analyzed for absurd hour ranges of the day. There would be no time for family or friends as I am sure that extra work would need to be done on the weekends to keep up with the pace of the office. I have no interest in any such career and would therefore never want to work in such a place.

It was quite interesting to see the daily routine of the President and the White House. It seems to be a very high demand job, not the leisurely job with power some people tend to think. The President has a very busy schedule, but somehow finds the time to do his own thing.

It was cool to see all the people that work there under him and how their input is considered. This would never be a job for me. I wouldn't like to be away from my family like that especially while raising two young daughters. The video gave me a new found respect for what the President does everyday.

After watching the video on the White House I was decently shocked about the life of the president. I knew that he was briefed on National Security and I thought all he did was sit at his desk and look over bill. I did not know that there was so many other people in the White House that do just about everything else. I learned that it is a lot of work and all they do is run the presidents political life. What I liked about the video is that it showed my Obama being a normal guy by going out to lunch at 5 guys. I do not think that I would like to work at the White House because of all the cramp space and fast work.

After watching "inside the Obama White house," I was surprised at how things worked within the small offices of the White House. The age of the people inside the White House surprised me, while there were a number of older employees, the number of young, just-out-of-college people working in the offices was overwhelming. The pace of how things moved within the daily schedule of the White House was faster than I imagined, and everyone inside the offices appeared to be stressed and frantic. I did enjoy the break that the president took in order to go out on the town and present himself as an everyday guy, all while enjoying a tasty burger.

I don't think i would like to work inside the White House. The pace and amount of work seemed to great for me to handle on a day to day basis. It was also mentioned that people who work there or in the government in general tend to not make a lot of money. Working so many hours a week for a small amount of pay wouldn't be my first choice of a professional career, even if it is in the White House. As for living in the White House, I still believe the pace would be to much for me to handle on a regular basis. Unless everyone left the White House in order to allow me to live there, and I didn't have to be president, but that won't be happening any time soon. Even living there as the President's son, going to school everyday and having to deal with the pace of the White House, and all the security measures would be to overwhelming.

Before watching "Life in the White House" i was uneducated about what really goes on. Before I believed that working in the White House was all paper work and conference calls. This obviously was not the case. It is probably one of the most chaotic places to work in America. Everyone is running around and doing several jobs at once. These jobs are not always easy and are usually very stressful. They need an entire parade of cars to transport the president from place to place even if its just as simple as going to a fast food restaurant. Due to these circumstances i would not want to work in the West Wing. When I'm older i want a job i enjoy not a job that will make me stressed day in and day out.

After watching the white house video i was surprised at how small most of the offices actually are. I was also surprised with how up tempo everything is in the white house and how many little things actually go into the whole job of being the President. I was also surprised at how lose the staff at the white house manage to stay under such extreme presure, again i imagined uptite employees who are mostly aragant jerks.

I would very much enjoy living in the white house as long as i wasnt working in it. I feel that working in the white house calls for the brains and work ethic that i just dont have.

I do not think that I would want to live in the white house because it seems that many of the families everyday lives is out in the open and rather than an authority figure, the president and his family is becoming more of a celebrity. As for working there I think that I would really enjoy the fast pace and upto date knowings on what is going on in America.

I was surprised that the young staff can pull such long hours every day, in my opinion I think that it’s way too much for such young people to be working. I though that Obama would be working all day in one office, but he really likes to go around into different places in the white house to have meetings at, I like how he likes to work in a small office instead of the original white house office. The last thing I liked about the white is that they have M&M`s all around the white house in jars.

After watching in the white house, I was planning on seeing employees their being very uptight and doing paperwork and having no emotion. It was suprising to see how people their have more of a relaxed mentality but still get work done. It was also very interesting to see that most of the workers their had blackberries, and in each office their was music playing to sort of calm things down a bit. I knew there was a lot of jobs at the white house but I didn't realize they have so many jobs for little things, like the president has a person follow them around all day just to give him hand sanitizer and other simple things. They also have a lot of snacks throughout the white house like big bowls of apples and more so a bunch of candy which seemed odd. I think that living in the white house would be fun at first if I wasn't working there, but I am not interested in political matters at all so I would probably get easily annoyed.

After watching In The White House I learned many new things. I didnt know how young some of the workers there were. I also learned that people in the white house do not get a very high pay. I think it would be different living in the white house because people are there every day at your house working and you are never alone. Working in the white house would be a little too much stress i think to handle. The president has to work a long day with a great deal of pressure on him and very high expectation. I think it would be very tough working as the president in the white house because there are little if any time for breaks, and or time to spend with your family. Working as president at the white house is a really important job but i think its just alittle too much to handle for me.

After watching “Inside the Obama White House” I think that it would be a very hectic place to live, but it would be fun at the same time. Having a job in the white house would be stressful, but it’s not only about work there. They take the time to get food and socialize just like any other job. Even though they say they’re all about being healthy and have apples everywhere, a lot of people are eating candy. I find that surprising only because I never thought there was specific white house candy. Also, I think that it’s great that Obama takes the time to go out into public unscheduled even just to go get a burger. It’s also important that he is spending time with his family which seems to be working out. In the end, I would probably like living in the white house because of all the interesting rooms that I could find and the people I would meet.

After viewing the White House from the inside, I was very intrigued as to how it all worked, and that the people inside were remarkably normal. Even the President himself was very down to earth, and he was very amiable with the rest of his staff. The fact that he just decided out-of-the-blue to go to Five Guys and get some food just shows that he is a normal guy, but in a high-ranking position. I feel like a job in the White House would be overly demanding though, and the fact that I’m not really into politics is something that would deter me if I were to work there. It would be cool to travel with the president as part of his security detail, but working at an office position is something that I really wouldn’t find suitable for me.

After viewing “Inside the Obama White House” I was surprised about how young the people in the office were, many of then just out of college. I guess with the energy that needs to be put in along with the long hours it’s essential to have young people there especially to keep pace with the White House. I was also surprised to see how small the White house actually was. With the White House being where the leader of the country works you imagine a large majestic place but it is a cramped space with so many people working there
I would not want to work in the White House for many reasons. The main one being the pace at which the White House runs and the importance of the materials being handled. The overall lifestyle would not be for me.

I found it surprising that Obama and everybody inside were just like us, normal people. I don't know why, but I pictured it to be serious all of the time and everybody always on task working. I knew that this wasn't true, but I still felt that the inside of the White House was different than I imagined.

I would not want to work there because I would never be able to sit inside of an office and work on politics all day long. Also, I feel like I would never get any free time to myself because I could get called into work at any moment.

It would be pretty awesome to live in the White House though. Just to be able to say to your friends every time you pass it, “Yeah I lived in the White House.” It’s not something most people would be able to say truthfully. Other than that though I don’t really see what’s so special about living there. I would never seem to get full privacy as if I was in my own home.

After watching the documentary about the White House, and life there, I think that I would not want to work there unless I was the president or perhaps an official that only had meetings with the president, like a joint chief of staff. The reason I say that is because, the White House is so small and crowded inside, that it would just be a terribly confined workspace, and just looks like everyone is packed into there like sardines. The only times or places that it wouldn't be so confined in was where the president lives and his oval office, or the numerous briefing/situation rooms. Besides, if you lost a paper or spilled some coffee, you would be in a lot of trouble I'd imagine. Just one large spoonful of coffee would soil an entire desk!

After watching the documentary on the happenings inside of the White House, I was not surprised by president Obama’s busy work schedule. I was also not surprised at the content of his meetings (economy, military, and foreign policy). However; I was extremely surprised by the movement of Barack Obama throughout the White House. As the video stated, the president usually remains in only a few rooms throughout the day, but Obama seemed to vigorously move through the white house as the day went on. The workers and secretaries that work within the White House work long hours each day and many hours each week for a salary that is on the smaller side (compared to the amount of hours spent working). For the previous reason and the fact that I would not want to work in politics, I would not want to work inside of the White House.

What I found most interesting was that the average age of White House employees is only about 25. I can understand this because such the White House moves at such a fast pace that the employees have to be able to keep up. It surprises me though because I would think that employees of the White House would have much more experience in the field of politics, as opposed to getting the job right out of university. I was also surprised at the employees' ability to stay relaxed, while also being efficient. Employees were listening to music, eating candy, not to mention Five Guys. I feel it is a good balance in the White House, because all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
I personally would not want to be a part of the White House, whether I was working there or actually living there. I'm not fit for the White House life, plus politics are not my strong point. Any career in the White House is one for someone highly qualified with a strong desire to be a part of something special. It is also really hard to get an accurate depiction of work inside the White House, because maybe there were aspects of the job that cameras couldn't see. I wonder if what we saw is really the inside and out of the White House life. Either way, I don't have any particular interest of being a part of the White House, but I am impressed with the people who work there, and with the President himself.

The young age of all the people working at the white house really surprised me. You would think that someone working in such a political center would have to have years of experience in the field. I had never seen the inside of the white house before seeing this and I didn't imagine it being so cramped and confined. It seems like a very stressful place to work and you can never be alone. There is no such thing as privacy. I don't think I could deal with this condition for such a long amount of hours in the work day.

After watching the Inside the White House video, I was most surprised by all the people that go into helping the President who don't receive any special superlatives. It was also surprising to learn how young the average age of a White House worker is, around 25. I would think that the president would want older people to help him run the country, people with more experience.
I would not want to live there though because you can't even go outside without the entire American public trying to watch you. I would want privacy as well. After looking at how the living quarters are set up, I don't like how your business is being done in the same place as where you live.
I would maybe want to work there because you know everyday that you are helping the American people, but you don't have the high rish high reward job like the President does.

After watching "Life in the White House" i wasn't that surprised at what I saw. I imagined that life at the white house would be hectic and stressful. Watching the people that work at the white house run around all day everyday with little to no time for themselves really opened my eyes. You really have to be dedicated to your job and country to keep up with everything. Everyday theres a new problem to be solved or a new situation to look into. The White House has so much history in it and so many people always there that i dont think i would enjoy living there. I like having privacy and i dont think i could ever have the White House feel like home. Im a very family oriented person and white house employees are always on the move and rarely get to spend time with their families. That would be a huge problem to me. Props to mr president for coping with with all these issues, its great that he can keep "family time" while running our country.

After watching "In the white house",i was surprised at many things. The first thing i was surprised with was how small the white house actually is. Everyone makes it out to be so big when it actually is quite small. Another thing i was surprised with was how busy everyone was at all times. I knew the workers there had to of been busy but i didn't realize they worked all hours of the day. I would not to want to live at the white house, because it is too chaotic. I feel that there is almost no privacy, and there's always people running around. One thing i liked about the video was when Obama went to get fast food. I was surprised that the workers actually made him pay for his meal! I would not want to be Obama, in when ever you want fast food, people are taking pictures and videos of you. Invasion of privacy!

After watching inside the Obama white House, I have realized just how busy it always is. I guess I always viewed the white house as just where the president and his family live, but there is so much more than that. All of the staff that work from early in the morning to late at night each day inside the white house surprised me. I found it very interesting how big of a project it is just for Obama to go out and grab a burger and how much goes into such a little event. I guess any event is a big event when it’s the president.
Personally I would not want to work in the white house. The days are way too long for my liking and I wouldn’t enjoy working in such hectic conditions day after day. It would be cool to live in the white house, but I really don’t think working there is for me.
