I believe that the tax cuts are essentially ruining our economy. As we attempt in vain to appease rich companies by giving them tax breaks, we end up putting a burden on the lower end of society. If tax cuts include everyone, then they should be adjusted to fit the income level of different parties, as opposed to uniformity across the board. Unemployment should be extended, but only for a short amount of time so that those who receive it do not abuse government aid and treat it as an excuse to not find employment after having been laid off. The payroll tax cut is controversial because it is difficult to appease both the Democrats and Republicans in Congress, and also that the country is as a whole divided on this issue.
